November 14, 2020: A Flurry of Busy-ness

I have been quite busy lately. I am a member of Fenix Fayetteville, a cooperative local gallery, where my new works are regularly exhibited. It is located at 16 W. Center Street on the Fayetteville, Arkansas square. Look for the wonderful Goddess Phoenix mural painted by Octavio Logo and Eugene Sargent on the side of our building, next door to Arvest Bank. We are open Wednesday through Saturday.

I have also been extremely busy illustrating a book. I will give more information about that once it is published. It’s been a wonderful learning experience, and I’m hoping to illustrate more books!

My “Intergalactic Botanicals” was a series I’ve enjoyed greatly. So much fun to make, as it’s a completely intuitive process. All of those—there were five—have sold, but I’m planning to continue to develop more of them. Reproductions of these are available for purchase, and I plan to publish a small book of them.

Lately, I have started a new series (as though I don’t have enough ongoing, open-ended series as it is!) of concentric circles in watercolor, called “The Energy of Peace.” Two of them are currently hanging at Fenix Gallery. I’m looking forward to doing many more of these.

I haven’t created silverpoint drawings in the past year, due to time restraints, but I’m looking forward to working on them daily again.

Peace to you all,

Karla
